At one time, the lakes, rivers and canals were the highways. Passengers and freight travelled by ship and rail, more often than not, well into the 20th Century.

The Welland House Hotel…one time “spa”, hotel, bar and now Student Residence. It was also at one time home to the studios of Radio Station CKTB.

St Catharines Cenotaph (next to CKTB)
Marker honouring Fred Fisher, VC from St Catharines, who earned the Empire’s highest honour, the Victoria Cross, in 1915 at the Battle of St. Julien in Belgium. Fisher was killed the next day and has no known grave. Marker is next to CKTB.
